Privacy Policy
Effective June 3, 2026
Design ("we," "us," or "our") operates trydesign.app (the "Site"). Design is currently operated as a sole proprietorship pending incorporation. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, the legal bases on which we process it, and your rights. By using the Site you acknowledge this policy; where required by law, we will ask for your explicit consent before processing.
Who Is The Data Controller
The operator of Design is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For any privacy questions, contact us at help@trydesign.app.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated automatically when you use the Site.
- Email address — when you join the waitlist, with your explicit consent via the checkbox on the form.
- Session data — device type (desktop or mobile), referring URL, and the page you landed on. Collected only after you accept analytics via the cookie banner.
- Engagement events — clicks and interactions on the Site, associated with a randomly generated session ID. Collected only after you accept analytics.
We do not collect names, payment information, precise location, or any government-issued identifiers through the Site. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
Legal Bases For Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under Articles 6(1) GDPR:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for joining the waitlist and for analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for keeping the Site secure and operational. We have balanced this against your rights and believe the processing is minimal and expected.
Cookies and Local Storage
We store a consent preference and (after consent) a randomly generated session identifier in your browser's local storage. No tracking or analytics identifiers are set before you accept analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for trydesign.app, or by clicking "Decline" on the cookie banner.
Service Providers and Third Parties
We use the following service providers ("processors" under GDPR) to operate the Site. They process data on our behalf under contractual obligations and do not use it for their own marketing.
- Supabase — our database provider, which stores your waitlist email and (if consented) session and event data. Supabase processes data on servers in the United States. Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy.
- Vercel — our hosting provider, which serves the Site. Vercel may log standard request metadata (IP, user-agent, timestamp) for security and operations. Privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Bunny Fonts — we serve web fonts from fonts.bunny.net, a GDPR-compliant CDN that does not log IP addresses or set cookies.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
International Data Transfers
If you access the Site from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our service providers (Supabase, Vercel) operate. For transfers of EEA, UK, or Swiss personal data to the U.S., we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and equivalent UK / Swiss safeguards through our processors' data processing agreements. You can request a copy of the relevant safeguards by emailing us.
Data Retention
Waitlist emails are retained until (a) the Design app launches and we have notified you, plus 30 days for follow-up, or (b) you request deletion, whichever is sooner. Analytics data (sessions and events) is retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. Consent records are retained for the period required to demonstrate compliance.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your information ("right to erasure").
- Restrict or object to our processing.
- Data portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for any consent-based processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email help@trydesign.app. We will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
EEA / UK residents — you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. A list of EEA authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. UK residents can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.
California residents — under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising or profiling that produces legal effects. To exercise your rights, contact us at the email above.
Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (United States) or under the applicable age of digital consent in your country (13–16 in the EEA, depending on the member state; 13 in the UK). If you believe we have collected information from a child below the applicable age, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including transport-layer encryption (HTTPS) and access controls, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice (such as an email to waitlist subscribers) before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
